The U.S. government restricts the hotels Americans can use while in Cuba. We have used Grand Aston La Habana for a few years. Future hotels are based on availability, pricing, and what the U.S. government allows.

Bus transportation via an air-conditioned coach is provided for all scheduled activities. Taxis are available for non-scheduled activities.
No, due to U.S. government restrictions, you cannot transact with U.S. bank and credit cards. You will need to carry enough cash for the entire trip. Your hotel will be prepaid. Most vendors will accept U.S. Dollars and Euros so you may not need to exchange into Cuban pesos.

Yes, tour guides speak English
1. Group airfare is more expensive. The airline is charging you to hold a block of seats that you can later cancel. They charge a premium for that. You will get a better price this way.
2. Familes often times want to extend trip either on the front or back end. It is difficult to unwind the group airfare out of the package.
3. People want to use miles & points.
4. Some people want a higher class of service offered in group airfare.
